The original Zap's Rat HQ Monaro has been booked to perform Blown Alcohol Doorslammer exhibition burnouts at this year's Motorvation at the Kwinana Beach Motorplex, in Perth Western Australia. Get set for the scream of the blown big block and more smoke than any other burnout exhibition.
Crowds love big burnouts - and John Zappia has enormous crowd appeal, and attracts huge roars from crowds wherever he performs in Australia.
Zap's Rat 1 is fitted with a supercharged, alcohol burning 402 Chev Big Block "Rat" engine for exibition burnouts and drag runs. The car has been on the dyno in this configuration and produced 816 horsepower at the rear wheels! That's over 1100 horsepower at the engine.
John Zappia announced today that the new Top Doorslammer will be on display, if the build program allows for the car to be ready. This new Zap's Rat is worth seeing!
INTERNATIONAL FANS:
Burnouts competitions are a unique Australian event, reflecting a street muscle car culture where the ability to perform and master a good burnout is mandatory! These burnout events attract tens of thousands of spectators, who sit all day watching street, race and exhibition vehicles perform tire smoking burnouts on a small "burn out pad". Accomplished burnout drivers can maneuver their cars very gracefully, in set patterns on the pad. The crowd roars as tyres burst, unusual burnouts are performed, and any number of tricks performed that win points with judges.
