8 Apr 2003: - The Zap's Rat crew, wearing their new team colours, were all smiles after resetting the Tin Top World Record at the Kwinana Beach Motorplex at the weekend. Overcoming clutch difficulties, the team put together a combination for the night that resulted in a pass that gave them confidence in the next full season in Top Doorslammer.
The 6.232/231.36mph was slightly quicker than the 6.25/233.6mph run previously to claim the world record. Despite losing to Trevor Morrison on a better index, the new Top Doorslammer has proven it's potential in these early trials and testing. [Lap times]
