RENTCO RE-SIGN

Rentco Group Managing Director Bob Shier has signed a one year sponsorship deal with Zappia Racing owner John Zappia for the 2005/2006 racing season. Rentco Transport Equipment Rentals Pty Ltd is a wholly owned and operated Australian company operating in six states of Australia. "We are pleased to re-sign with RENTCO, who have sponsored all our local WA events at the Kwinana Motorplex for the upcoming season" said Zap this week. "Last season was excellent exposure for RENTCO, and their sponsorship assisted us in many ways, including travelling to Queensland for the Winternationals"

AC DELCO EAST COAST NATIONALS

Zappia Racing have self funded their trip to Sydney for the AC Delco East Coast Nationals to be held at Western Sydney International Dragway on 16 - 18 Sept 2005. The event is round 1 of the Australian Top Doorslammer Championship, and based on the performance of the car at the recent Winternationals, John Zappia and his team will be among the top favourites to take out the event. "We have never raced at WSID, but our home track is very similar in design" said Zappia. "The HQ Monaro is now sorted and ready for serious racing, so we are expecting big things from the team. We decided to self fund this trip to make a good start to the Top Doorslammer Championship, and will seek a National Sponsor to assist in competing at all the other rounds."

AME DRAGS, BURNOUTS, DRIFTING

Australian Motoring Expo have invited John Zappia and his HQ Monaro to match race fellow Top Doorslammer racer Steve Stannic in the Lucky Balleri Camaro for the first ever Drags, Burnout and Drifting Nationals. This event is to be held at Calder Park on Saturday 1st of October 2005 and essentially the event is 13 hours of on track Motorsport of which 10 hours is dedicated to drag racing and the remaining time to be allocated to burnouts and drifting events. Zap and Stannic will match race each other in Outlaw configuration, without the restrictions of Top Doorslammer rules.

ZAP'S RAT vs THE BATMOBILE

The Kwinana Motorplex have secured WA's favourite son John Zappia to race Victoria's Peter Kapiris in his "Batmobile" at the opening meeting of the season on 22nd October in an Outlaw Doorslammer showdown. Kapiris is on his way back to form after a dissapointing season in 2004/2005, and he will be hoping to regain the form that previously set him a world record 6.05et at the Kwinana track in 2003. Zap will be building on his Winternationals 6.08 et effort, plus racing at the AC Delco East Coast Nationals and Calder park Outlaw Doorslammer could further improve his performance, hopefully producing Australia's fastest side by side passes.
