PERTH's John Zappia is currently working on the body of his new 71 HQ Top Doorslammer and once finished will send them to Melbourne for Murray Anderson to finish off the chasis.
"I'm a bit dissapointed that ANDRA won't allow me to go as radical as my previous car when the Studebakers have a very raked nose. But we'll just have to make up for that in other areas," said Zap.
The current car will become a burnout special while it's 511 KB will find it's way into the new car.
"That engine has gone as quick as 6.42 and 220 mph [354] in a 2800lb car. We hope that the new car will come in around 2550 lb. Added to that the engine had single mag and 33 percent overdrive. That should knock a couple of tenths off the ET and place us in the ball park"
